Dr Rebecca Kao moved to Adelaide with her family from Taiwan when she was 13 and she graduated as a Dux at the local Norwood Morialta High School. She graduated from medicine at the University of Western Australia in 2003 and completed her Fellowship of Royal College of General Practice in 2007.

She enjoys all aspects of general practice, treating patients of every age to provide comprehensive care and optimise their health. She believes in working in collaboration with patients, empowering patients to make informed health decisions and support them to reach their health goals.

Dr Rebecca Kao has special interest in women’s and children’s health, preventative medicine, mental health and chronic disease management including diabetes and asthma management. She is accredited to insert and remove Implanon and is experienced in providing iron infusions therapy.

She speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese in both spoken and written language.

She is also involved in ongoing research ‘ASPREN program’ with the University of Adelaide which involves monitoring and surveillance of Flu and COVID-19 prevalence in the community.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and 3 children, travelling, art, fitness, yoga and Pilates.
